Abstract
Based on a high-purity commercial BaTiO3 powder, Mn-doping effects on the lifetime of BaTiO3 ceramic capacitors were examined using a temperature-accelerated life-test. The mean time to failure (MTTF) of samples with 0.4 wt% of MnO2 was improved by more than three orders of magnitude compared to the pure samples. The shape-changes in D-E hysteresis loop of samples with and without MnO2 doping under a high AC field for a long time were measured and are discussed. TiO2 2 ceramic samples with controlled irregular or plate-like pores were prepared and the permittivity-property relations were discussed with the pore-shape effects. Also, the electrical and mechanical properties of BaTiO3 samples with and without a controlled delamination were measured and are discussed. Keywords
