Abstract
The Eysenck Personality Inventory and the Profile of Mood States were completed by 25 alcoholics and 25 heroin addicts (black men, mean ages 33 and 29 yr). In their descriptions of how they had felt during the week before entering treatment, the only significant between-group difference was on the neuroticism-stability scale of the Eysenck Inventory; the alcoholics were significantly more neurotic (15.00 vs. 9.60, P < .001). The scores of both groups on the mood test were within the range found in male psychiatric outpatients. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
