Abstract
Converged coupled-channel calculations of scattering have been carried out at very low scattering energies. The results are used to show that a virtual state is present in the model static-exchange-polarization interaction potential used in these calculations. This result provides a possible interpretation for experimental data on total, momentum-transfer, and vibrational-excitation cross sections. A scattering length of is predicted.
