Computer Studies of Collionless Damping of a Large Amplitude Whistler Wave

Abstract
Computer simulation of a single large amplitude whistler wave propagating in a plasma has been carried out. Such a wave shows an initial linear damping, then a regrowth and amplitude oscillation, and finally settles to a constant amplitude value; all in good agreement with theory.Keywords
