Abstract
Administration of adrenotropic extract to tadpoles of Rana pipiens which had been both hypo-physectomized and thyroidectomized resulted in hypertrophy of the atrophic adrenal glands and great increase in their content of osmiophilic material. This reaction is fully as great as that obtained when the thyroid gland ia entirely present, or when thyroid fragments remain after incomplete removal. In hypophysectomized tadpoles there is no compensatory hypertrophy of the thyroid fragments after unsuccessful thyroidectomy. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
