Abstract
Until recent years, few staphyloccal plasmids were isolated, mainly due to the difficulty in lysing the organism without denaturing its DNA. This is because staphylococci, unlike many other species, are relatively resistant to the lytic action of egg-white lysozyme. A. lyticus lytic enzyme was successfully utilized in this study in preparing plasmid DNA from S. aureus. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
