Medical Management of Visceral Actinomycosis

Abstract
A patient had extensive retroperitoneal actinomycosis with renal and vertebral involvement. Abdominal computed tomography was invaluable in defining the extent of the disease and in assessing the effects of therapy. A cure was accomplished with a prolonged course of oral penicillin and probenecid, and surgical exploration was avoided.
