Abstract
In a double-blind masked study with 100 young and healthy subjects we compared the influence of the β-blocking agents timolol and metipranol on breakup time and their tolerance. While metipranolol provoked a slight burning sensation, timolol was well tolerated. Both β-blockers, however, led to an equally enormous reduction in BUT in short-term observations. Keywords
