Abstract
The carbohydrate content of thyroglobulin and the lens capsule was studied. Paper chromatography of hydrolyzates was used for qualitative investigation and the carbazole-sulfuric acid method for quantitative estimations of carbohydrates. Thyroglobulin contains 4.2% carbohydrate made up of galactose, mannose, and fucose, while the lens capsule contains 11.8% carbohydrate made up of galactose, glucose, mannose, and fucose. Keywords
