The importance of Duopleet prostheses for the treatment of femoral neck fractures

Abstract
Es wird über den klinischen Verlauf von 68 Patienten berichtet, die im Zeitraum Juni 1982–Juli 1984 nach erlittener Schenkelhals fraktur operiert wurden. Je nach Alter und Begleiterkrankungen wurde eine unterschiedliche Versorgung gewählt. Methoden, Operationszeiten, Komplikationen, Letalität, Mobilisierungsergebnisse und Verweildauer werden beschrieben, mit der Literatur verglichen und diskutiert. Die Ergebnisse sprechen eindeutig für die Anwendung der Duokopfprothese bei der Schenkelhalsfraktur des alten Menschen über 75 Jahre. Andere Methoden behalten bei entsprechender Indikationsstellung ihre Berechtigung. The clinical course of 68 patients with femoral neck fractures is reported. Fracture management was chosen regarding age and accompanying health defects. Fracture management, operation time, complications, mobilization results and hospitalization time is described, compared to other authors and discussed. The results favor the implantation of a Duopleet prosthesis as the salvage operation of choice for femoral neck fractures of old patients beyond 75. Other methods are considered to remain valuable with differentiated indication.
