Abstract
Students who read poorly often have several problems in addition to poor reading which stand in the way of their school achievement. Thus, poor reading should not be treated as an isolated problem; rather, all roadblocks to a poor reader's academic success should be identified and a treatment plan devised which addresses both academic and nonacademic problems. Incidence of various academic and nonacademic roadblocks found in a population of poor readers is discussed, as well as some of the strategies that were used for overcoming the roadblocks.
