Abstract
The results of muon capture experiments in hydrogen, deuterium, and He3 were analyzed by comparing the observed capture rates to their theoretical expressions. From each experimental result, assuming conserved-vector-current, an allowed region of variation was obtained for the possible pairs of the axial-vector (gA,μ) and induced pseudoscalar (gP,μ) coupling constants. Assuming gP,μ as given by one-pion exchange dominance, a limited range of variation for gA,μ was then derived from each experimental result.
