Abstract
The extensive and multi-faceted contributions of behavior analysis to the field of special education have been documented in numerous research studies and review articles. However, this literature is widely scattered and comes from different orientations within the general discipline of behavior analysis. These circumstances have contributed to some confusion on the part of those persons who only sample limited facets of the behavior analysis literature, and have resulted in criticisms that behavioral technology is narrow in scope. The present review attempts to organize the diverse data base pertaining to behavior analysis, and offers support for the contention that while the impact of behavioral technology on special education research and practice has been considerable, its potential has yet to be fully realized. Keywords
