Abstract
BJÖRN A. GOTTWALD received his university education at the University of Bonn (diploma in physics, 1962) and at the Technical University of Hannover (doctoral degree in physical chemistry, 1965). Upon completion of his graduate work he pursued his research interests in the physical chemistry of gas-surface interactions emphasizing the kinetics of heterogeneous chemical reactions with simultaneous adsorption and diffusion processes. Since 1973 he has been an associate professor in the Faculty for Biology, University of Freiburg. His current interests include all aspects of modelling and simulating biological and chemical processes. Keywords
