High pressure NQR study of hydrogen bonds in ferroelectric N(CH3)4H(Cl3CCOO)2

Abstract
The effect of pressure up to 300 MPa on the 35Cl NQR spectra in ferroelectric phase of N(CH3)4H(Cl3CCOO)2 has been studied at 77 K. It is shown that the separation between the average NQR frequencies of the two trichloroacetate radicals is a sensitive monitor of the proton deviation from the center of H-bond. With increasing pressure the separation between the quadrupole resonance lines decreases.
