Responses of Infants and Young Children to Behavior Observation Audiometry (BOA)

Abstract
One-hundred and ninety children, ranging from three to 59 months of age, were tested by behavior observation audiometry (BOA) in an attempt to formulate a guide for clinical interpretation of BOA thresholds. The results showed that BOA thresholds are influenced by chronological age. Children who could be tested by both BOA and play audiometry consistently demonstrated lower thresholds on the latter procedure.
