Abstract
The Paley-Wiener criterion states necessary and sufficient conditions which a square integrable amplitude gain of a linear system has to satisfy in order that the impulse response is causal. These conditions are extended to the case of an impulse response which is a slowly growing or Laplace transformable generalized function. Keywords
