Abstract
The work reward expectations and generalized work attitudes of 453 high school students were measured. The effects of race, sex, social class, and parental reward values on students' perceptions of work were examined. Preemployment attitudes partially account for the frequently reported relationship among job characteristics, demographic variables, and employee attitudes. Keywords
