Transition Metal Chelate‐Fulleride Compounds: Electrocrystallization of Semiconducting [ Ru ( bpy ) 3 ] ( C 60 ) 2

Abstract
We report the electrochemical synthesis and conductivity of the transition metal chelate‐fulleride compound (where bpy = 2,2′‐bipyridine). This compound was prepared via the electrogeneration of in dichloromethane media saturated with . Two point conductivity measurements demonstrate that this black crystalline material exhibits Arrhenius behavior typical of semiconductors at temperatures between 80 and 308 K. The specific conductivity at 298.15 K is 0.01 Ω−1 cm−1, and the activation energy is 0.15 eV.
