Abstract
Errors in measurement due to the use of pressure pumps to feed atmospheric samples to combination total hydrocarbon, methane, and carbon monoxide detectors are pointed out. The type of errors involved are detected only by a comparison study of monitors. The use of vacuum pumps as a superior method of sample introduction is discussed. Keywords
