Succinic Dehydrogenase Activity in Odontoblasts

Abstract
Molar tooth germs from 7-day-old mice were frozen-dried and stained with tetrazolium-succinate. In paraffin sections, succinic dehydrogenase activity was seen to be localized in odontoblasts and absent from subodontoblasts. Such localization suggests that dentin collagen is predominantly synthesized by odontoblasts.
