Abstract
We show that the hypothesis of an underlying quaternionic dynamics for particle physics naturally implies an effective complex -nonconserving interaction of superweak form, but arising in second order in the quaternionic perturbation. The energy scale for the appearance of strong quaternionic effects is estimated to be 20 TeV.
