Abstract
The low-lying energy levels of the odd-odd nucleus and the even-even nuclei and are calculated within the framework of the harmonic-oscillator shell model taking Green's velocity-dependent potential as the residual interaction. It is found that Green's parameters do not give satisfactory agreement with experiment. Sets of parameters are determined that give good fits to the experimental spectra.
