Abstract
The notion of thermal ratchet is extended to the dimensional case of an overdamped soliton-bearing theory coupled to a Gaussian source of spatiotemporal noise with finite correlation time. A stationary noise-induced current of kinks and antikinks in opposite directions is computed as a function of the noise correlation time and the kink (antikink) asymmetry.
