Malignant Melanoma of the Esophagus: First Reported Case in a Child

Abstract
Malignant melanoma of the esophagus is rare. Only 29 cases have been reported since the first description in 1906, and none in children have been documented. Surgical and necropsy findings of a primary esophageal malignant melanoma in a 7-year-old boy are described. We believe this is the first published report of an esophageal malignant melanoma in a child.
