Abstract
Energy spectra of plasmons with wave vectors from 0 to are reported in aluminum, sodium, and lithium. The dispersion of the peak position and of the width are given for aluminum and sodium, and it is shown that free-electron theory with simple damping and exchange corrections can be made to reproduce the shape of the plasma resonance at all wave vectors studied.
