Abstract
The enzyme, TPN triose-phosphate dehydrogenase is formed in Leaves of 11 day red kidney beans which were given 5 minutes of red radiation on the 5th through the 8th days. Under these conditions, there is no chlorophyll synthesis. If the treatment with red light is followed by far-red light, the level of enzyme is similar to that of dark grown seedlings. These results support the suggestion that the formation of TPN triose dehydrogenase is controlled by the photomorphogenic reaction and is independent of chlorophyll synthesis. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
