Abstract
SUMMARY A 57-year-old female patient underwent 1 6-incision radial keratotomy followed by four additional re-operations in an attempt to eliminate her myopia (-5.75). Although she finally attained an excellent visual result uncorrected to 20/40), she sustained an endothelial cell loss of 24%, and her cornea showed excessive scarring and focal epithelial inclusion cysts indicative of poor wound healing. Re-operations for myopia should be approached with great caution because of these potential complications. Keywords
