Medical Care of Children in Public Programs

Abstract
American health services today are splintered and disorganized. Children receive care from a variety of separate sources'', rarely in one place. Inefficiency and red tape waste the time both of families and skilled health personnel. Financing through a multiplicity of agencies, state, municipal, federal and private, promotes splinterization and duplication. The immediate concern is to reorganize health services. Extensive research on how this should be done is urgently needed. There should be more emphasis on the quality of the care they provide.
