Abstract
Karyology of Notoplana igiliensis Galleni was studied: karyogram and idiogram of the species are here reported. The haploid numebr n = 10 was established on spermatocytes I and II and oocytes I. A different chiasma frequency was observed in the female and male line. The diploid number 2 n = 20 was established on mitosis from embryos and from neoblasts. A karyometric analysis of five metaphase plates permitted the reconstruction of the karyogram. In the chromosome complement, chromosomes nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 are subtelocentric; chromosomes nos. 3, 7, 9, 10 are, instead, clearly metacentric. The lengths of the chromosomes decrease gradually and it is impossible to divide them into groups; only chromosomes nos. 8, 9, 10 are easy distinguishable, owing to their small dimensions. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
