Abstract
Probability equations are developed for the purpose of analyzing recrystallization data to determine what mechanisms may operate during recrystallization processes. The equations allow for inexact variations in orientation changes provided the variations are small. gives the probability that a nucleation will result in an orientation falling within radians of a specified one on a chance basis. Other equations are given for the probability of occurrence of nearly common orientations for various types of groupings. Values of probabilities are given in tables.
