Abstract
Ergosterol, when irradiated with rays of wave length 254 m/[mu], gives a series of reaction-products, while long-wave irradiation yields only 1 product, vitamin D. The amount of vitamin D present in solutions is determined by the absorption spectrum. Preliminary results show that the first reaction product of long-wave irradiation has antirachitic activity of a magnitude not previously reached. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
