Boundary Integral Solutions of Water Wave Problems

Abstract
The Boundary Integral Equation Method (BIEM) is extended to solve three-dimensional, linearized, transient water wave problems. Only the radiation problems concerning long waves generated by an upthrust block of the sea bed are considered in this paper. Due to the linearization, free-surface boundary conditions are applied on the still water level rather than the actual location of the free surface. Thus the problem becomes a fixed boundary problem. A radiation boundary condition is used to truncate the computational domain. Reasonable agreement between present numerical results and previous analytical solutions is observed.
