Abstract
Adult albino rats were exposed to 800 r single dose total body X-irradiation. Urinary excretion of dehydroascorbic acid and diketogulonic acid increased 150 and 230 %, resp., after irradiation. This response is similar to that observed after exposure of rats to cold; it is suggested that these changes may be a general response to stress. Keywords
