Sporotrichoid Mycobacterium marinum skin infection treated with minocycline hydrochloride

Abstract
A patient with the sporotrichoid variety of M. marinum infection was treated with minocycline hydrochloride, 200 mg/day. In vitro susceptibility studies showed the organism to be susceptible to minocycline hydrochloride at a level of 12 .mu.g/ml. The skin lesions resolved completely by 8 wk and there was no recurrence after a 15 mo. follow-up.
