Abstract
The concept of double mode locking of dye lasers is introduced. A pair of laser dyes with the absorption spectrum of one coinciding with the fluorescence spectrum of the other is shown to become mode locked about two different wavelengths simultaneously. Numerical calculations predict rapid development of subpicosecond pulses. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
