Abstract
Techniques are presented whereby the grid method of plastic-strain determination may be extended to include the determination of strain at a point, rather than over a finite gage length, and the determination of the principal strain, magnitude, and direction, when these directions are not necessarily in alignment with the original grid. Measurement may be made in terms of either the tensor or logarithmic definitions of finite strain.Keywords
