Abstract
A large number of alkyl p-nitrophenyl alkylphosphonates and their sulfur analogs have been prepared and examined for insecticidal activity. A large majority of these compounds were extremely effective against the house fly, Musca domestica L., in spite of wide variations in both alkyl groups. The insecticidal activity of these compounds appears to be largely a function of the reactivity of the molecule. Keywords
