Abstract
In the northern Appalachians, rocks showing polyphase Variscan/Alleghenian deformation are found in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In Canada the deformed succession ranges from Tournaisian to Permian, and in New England from Westphalian to Stephanian.Keywords
