Theoretical analysis of the vibrational population in theN2+(BΣu+2)state produced in charge-transfer collisions ofHe++N2(XΣg+1)

Abstract
The vibrational distribution of the BΣu+2 state of N2+ produced in collisions of He+ and N2(XΣg+1) is calculated using a simple moving-wave-packet model. The results agree very well with the experimental data over the entire accessible range of He+ velocity (105 - 108 cm/sec).
