Abstract
Chondroitin sulfate (ChS) was determined histologically and chemically at seven sites from four selected areas of distal femoral articular cartilage from each of five 90-kg boars. The concentration of ChS was higher (P < 0.05) in the force-bearing than in the non-force-bearing areas of the cartilage. Site differences in cartilage thickness and collagen concentration were also observed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
