Abstract
A simple apparatus for carrying out constant load creep tests in tension on polycrystalline ceramics is described. The apparatus can be used up to temperatures of 1750 degrees C. The percentage bending imposed on the specimen is always less than 4%. Some initial results on the creep of high density polycrystalline alumina are presented. Keywords
