Abstract
Serum beta-glucuronidase and esterase was detd. in healthy men and women in the over- 50 age group; and in patients with ad-vanced breast cancer, with and without estrogen therapy. The levels for both glucuronidase and esterase were higher in the male than in the female controls. Estrogen therapy caused an increased glucuronidase and a decreased esterase in the sera of the patients with breast cancer. These changes were reversed when the estrogen therapy was stopped. Keywords
