Abstract
UV radiation, selective endonuclease excision and the effect of caffeine administered to N. gruberi indicate that the excision repair mechanism present in bacteria and other organisms does not operate in this species. Sucrose sedimentation profiles of DNA between irradiated and non-irradiated control cells indicated no repair had taken place. Thus, the protozoan phylum appears heterogenous with respect to the repair process. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
