Abstract
Modulation of the output of a 0.633 μm laser demonstrates the linear Pockels response of a monolayer Langmuir-Blodgett film. DC-induced shifts in the surface plasmon resonance in an attenuated total reflection configuration are observed. The nonlinear susceptibility χ(2) (-ω ω, 0) of the monolayer is estimated.Keywords
