Abstract
The case of a boy with the cat-eye syndrome (CES, [characterized by iris coloboma anal atresia and moderate mental retardation]) with 47,XY + mar is presented. Ag staining revealed that the marker chromosome was bisatellited. This abnormal chromosome is interpreted as the product of a Robertsonian translocation between the short arm and satellites of chromosome 22 and short arm of another D-group chromosome, probably chromosome 13.
