Abstract
Experiments of magnetostatic surface‐wave propagation in YIG slabs have been performed which show a transverse distribution of rf field of Gaussian shape. Previous theories are for uniform internal dc field and give uniform or cosine rf distribution. The observed Gaussian shape can be tentatively explained in terms of propagation in a nonuniform lossy medium, the nonuniformity being a consequence of the internal dc field profile. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
