Abstract
Diethylpropion (‘Tenuate Dospan’) was found to be an acceptable therapy when given on a long-term basis to 20 very overweight patients who had failed to lose weight on diet alone. There were remarkably few untoward side-effects and no indication of the development of tolerance to the drug. An interesting feature of the trial was a correlation between fall in blood pressure with loss of weight. Keywords
