Abstract
Extracts of avocado particle acetone powders have been obtained which incorporate 1-C14 -acetate into free oleic and palmitic acids. Cofactors required by the system included CoA, ATP, Mn++, TPNH, cysteine, and bicarbonate. An absolute requirement for bicarbonate was observed, however labeled bicarbonate was not incorporated into the product. The requirement was also observed in the intact avocado particles as well as tissue slices. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
