Abstract
Experimental results of Clark and Katz and of Katz, Leverton, and Woods obtained in a resonance method for determining the ratio of specific heats Cp/Cv have been recomputed with an improved formula for the mass effect of the gas. Improved agreement with values based on spectroscopic and PVT data is obtained for nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and sulphur dioxide. Keywords
